Clinical Research Office Services
The IU Simon Cancer Center Clinical Research Office (CRO) provides the following services:
- training and supervision of research staff
- implementation of the Data and Safety Monitoring Plan (auditors, support staff for the Clinical Trials Monitoring Committee)
- maintenance of computerized databases to track protocols and patient data
- and interaction and data transfer with the Biostatistics and Data Management Core.
These services begin in the early stages of protocol development and continue throughout study implementation, publication, and long-term follow-up. The CRO supports the submission to and review of protocols by the IU Simon Cancer Center Scientific Review Committee (SRC). The Biostatistics and Data Management shared facility is integrated with the CRO to insure appropriate analysis of data and facilitate quality assurance monitoring.
