Cancer Research Day 2007 Highlights

The 2007 Cancer Research Day was held May 2 with a scientific poster session and keynote address by Dr. Curtis C. Harris from the National Cancer Institute Human Carcinogenesis Laboratory. Nearly 100 posters were presented and represented the current cancer research conducted at IUPUI, IU-Bloomington, Purdue University and Lilly Research Labs.

Dr. Harris, chief of the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis and chief of its Molecular Genetics and Carcinogenesis Section, presented his research on environmental carcinogenesis, cancer risk factors and molecular genetics of human carcinogenesis. Dr. Harris' research has significantly impacted the field of cancer risk assessment and our understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of human cancer.

The 2007 Cancer Research Day Awards for best posters in categories of basic science, translational and population science research were selected by a review board and presented to the following graduate students and post-doctoral/medical fellows.
